Tea Culture and Traditions

Promoting tea culture and traditions within the setting of enjoyable and educational social interactions is the hallmark of the Virginia Tea Society.

Membership requires learning about tea etiquette in classes that we provide. It also requires willingness to carry on the traditions and culture of our Society in a friendly atmosphere of afternoon teas.

Our teas usually occur on Saturday afternoons once a month, January through June and September through December.  The schedule is updated regularly in the Members Only section of the website.  Each one of our teas is associated with a different theme and decor that provides a wonderful learning experience for our members. Particular teas are chosen for each assembly.  The venues are held in the most beautiful locations that we can find around the Hampton Roads area that are within our budget.

As an example, here are some photos from our 20th Anniversary Tea held onNovember 13, 2021 at Norfolk Yacht & Country Club.
